Kal Penn took the anchor’s seat on The Daily Show for a week in March 2023, becoming one of the rotating guest hosts who followed Trevor Noah’s departure.
Penn hosted the program from March 13 through March 16, with guests including President Joe Biden, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chasten Buttigieg. The Television Academy later spoke with Penn about his experience behind the desk and the advice he received from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
