Kal Penn joined the English-language cast of Studio Ponoc’s animated feature The Imaginary, voicing Zinzan in the film’s international version.
Studio Ponoc announced the English cast in June 2024, ahead of the film’s worldwide Netflix release on July 5. Penn’s castmates included Hayley Atwell, LeVar Burton, Sky Katz and Jeremy Swift.

Kal Penn took the anchor’s seat on The Daily Show for a week in March 2023, becoming one of the rotating guest hosts who followed Trevor Noah’s departure.
Penn hosted the program from March 13 through March 16, with guests including President Joe Biden, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chasten Buttigieg.
